The Rock Snowpark

The Rock Adventure Tower - Course Manager

Pay starting at $18/hr and is based on experience | Previous experience required 

Coming to The Rock Snowpark is The Rock Adventure Tower! A Kristall Turm KT-7 Tower offering three levels of elements for all skill levels. We are hiring a course manager to handle all day-to-day operations of the tower. Join The Rock Snowpark team to bring fun to the hill all year long! 

We are seeking a safety-minded, energetic, fun facilitator to direct high/low ropes courses and team-building exercises. The manager must have extensive leadership, high ropes and team building experience; feel comfortable leading games and speaking in front of groups. The course manager is also responsible for all daily course preparation, maintaining a safe environment, equipment inventory/operation checks and organizing team building exercises. The tower manager will directly supervise a staff of individuals 18 years and older while performing duties such as scheduling and training.  The course manager will work closely with The Rock Snowpark’s general manager and owners. 

The preferred candidate will have a strong focus on: 

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining effective management systems and processes
  • Contribute to short and long-term strategic priorities and planning 
  • Train staff and contribute to a team culture intensely focused on exceptional guest experiences 
  • Recruitment and hiring of an Adventure Tower team
  • Care and use of ropes, harnesses, helmets and other equipment and supplies 

Applicants must have a current or the ability to obtain ACCT Level 2 safety certification. This certification requires 200 hours of previous ropes course experience. 

The Rock Adventure Tower is a seasonal attraction, operating in the summer months while the ski hill is closed. The tower manager is a full-time seasonal position with the opportunity for employment at the ski hill during the winter season.

18yrs + - starting $12/hr 

Lift Ops (must be 18yrs+) starting - $14/hr

Assistant Snow School Manager - Seasonal Full-Time

Essential Job Functions: Starting at $18/hr. Pay based on experience 

  • Must be at 21yrs or older and have previous management experience 
  • Working inside and outside in winter conditions 
  • Lead a team of skiing and snowboarding instructors (40-60)
  • Schedule and oversee online lesson sales, including private lessons, youth programs and specials 
  • Schedule and organize various types of groups 
  • Provide excellent customer service and help solve problems on the fly 
  • Daily opening and closing tasks of the snow school building 
  • Create a welcoming and fun enviroment for employees and guests

Position Overview: This individual will provide leadership and coordination for all skiing and snowboarding lessons taking place at The Rock Snowpark. This position works closely with the rental and ticketing department on a daily basis and reports to the general manager. This manager will also be responsible for the booking and scheduling of all skiing and snowboarding group visits at The Rock Snowpark. 

The Assistant Snow School Manager will shadow the current manager throughout the 2022/2023 season and transition into the manager role by end of the season. This position is customer service oriented and involves the organization, training and oversight of all skiing and snowboarding lessons. The ideal candidate will be a passionate skier or snowboarder that is certified or working towards a PSIA/AASI certification and has prior knowledge about teaching. Group bookings will also fall under this position as they directly involve lessons and availability. 

This is a full time, seasonal position (40+ hours a week). Work typically begins mid October and ends mid March. The manager is expected to be on site before, during and sometimes after operating hours. Nights and weekends are required. Possible full-time year-round work is available with our growing summer business. The Rock Snowpark’s snow school has had tremendous growth over the past years and we are looking for an individual who is ready to take on this part of our business and really make it thrive. Teaching people the life long sport of skiing and snowboarding is a core value to our business and it can all start by having a positive lesson experience!

Food & Beverage Manager - Seasonal Full-Time

Essential Job Functions: Starting at $18/hr | Previous experience required 

  • Must be at 21yrs or older and have previous management experience 
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of our cafe and bar as well as the overall cleanliness of The Lodge
  • Ability to work alone AND with other employees during busy times
  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients
  • Adhere to all recipes standards set forth by the company
  • Ensure cleanliness and limit food waste
  • Manage ticket times and ensure guests are being served in a timely manner
  • Taking inventory of all food and drinks for weekly orders and putting away orders 
  • Training staff on all duties in both cafe and bar
  • Learn and understand the ins and outs of the POS system
  • Basic knowledge of Google suite features 

Position Overview: We are seeking a F&B Manager to join our team at The Rock Snowpark in Franklin, WI. We are looking for a go-getter with a background in culinary arts and back-of-house operations. As the F&B manager, you are responsible for leading all cafe and bar staff and providing outstanding customer service related to the food service side of our business. A positive attitude and enthusiasm for great food and drinks are a must! We are looking for an individual with a passion for this field who would be able to grow and expand this portion of the business. 

The Rock Snowpark is a skiing, snowboarding, and tubing hill located within the Rock Sports Complex in Franklin. We are owned and operated completely separate from all the baseball and umbrella bar activities. Snow Tubing Manager- Seasonal Full-Time

Essential Job Functions: Starting at $20/hr | Previous experience preferred

  • Must be 21yrs or older with prior management experience
  • Lead a team of 30-50 employees 
  • Responsible for nearly all aspects of our snow tubing park
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to pull loaded snow tubes across the snow
  • Set up and take down of the snow tubing park
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to be very vocal
  • Ability to demonstrate age appropriate communication skills with guest and staff 
  • Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions

Position Overview: Our snow tubing park is the busiest area on the hill. We are looking for an upbeat and positive individual to lead a team and provide outstanding customer service to our snow tubing guests. The snow tubing manager ensures that our snow tubing park is staffed accordingly and operating in an efficient and safe manner for our customers. This position requires to be very hands on and vocal with guests and employees. Majority of snow tubing guests are families and young kids. The manager will work closely with our outside operations department and report to the general manager. 

The tubing manager will oversee all scheduling and training of our tubing department. This position requires a risk management type thinker and holds safety of guests and employees to the utmost importance. The ideal candidate will enjoy working outside, interacting with others and have outstanding customer service skills. The right individual would also take on the coordination and scheduling of tubing group visits.  

This is a full time, seasonal position. Work typically begins late October and ends mid March. The manager is expected to be on site before, during and sometimes after operating hours. Nights and weekends are required. Possible full-time year-round work available with our growing summer business. The Rock Snowpark’s snow tubing park is the busiest area on the hill attracting the most visits per season. Cafe Supervisor - Seasonal part-time

Position Overview: Our Cafe staff is responsible for meeting customers’ needs in terms of food and beverage, as well as ensuring clean and sanitary conditions of the lodge area. Duties as a cafe supervisor include but are not limited to training on food prep, operating a fryer and/or oven, operating a cash register, cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking items. Putting away and organizing orders. Leading a team through opening and/or closing procedures. Organization and cleanliness are a must! We are looking for an individual with previous F&B experience to help assist our F&B manager in this department. Lift Operator - Seasonal Part-Time

Essential Job Functions | Must be +18 | Starting $14/hr

  • Working outside, frequently in extreme weather conditions
  • Ensuring guests remain SAFE at all times while using our lifts
  • Physically holding chairs while guests load and unload chairlifts
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Snow shoveling required
  • May be on your feet for the entire shift
  • Purchase and/or rent a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements

Position Overview: Lift operators are in constant contact with our guests and must be friendly and helpful when greeting and assisting them. You will be outside, sometimes for your entire shift, in all types of weather. You must be agile on soft and hard-packed snow surfaces and able to walk safely down the slopes. You may be performing basic lift maintenance and clearing snow. You will work the Magic Carpet lift in the tubing area, and you may be scheduled to work as a tubing attendant during weekday “special open” events for school groups. Lift Operators are responsible for making sure customers have a safe and enjoyable experience while using the lifts at The Rock Snowpark.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform job on your feet for an entire shift
  • Minimum age of 16
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to pull loaded snow tubes across the snow
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Snow shoveling is required

Position Overview: Tubing Attendants are in constant contact with our guests and must possess friendly and helpful personalities. Attendants will perform all opening, operating, and closing procedures at the Tubing Park at The Rock. They will assist customers at the top and the bottom of the hill with getting into and out of snow tubes. It is the tubing attendants' responsibility to ensure customers have a safe and memorable experience! This position requires you to be vocal and interact with the guests - don't be shy!

Snow School Instructor - Seasonal part-time

Essential Job Functions:

  • Good skiing and/or snowboarding ability preferred but not required
  • Outside work, frequently in extreme weather conditions
  • Commitment to improving skills and teaching techniques through practice and clinics
  • Some clinics will be mandatory
  • Excellent customer services skills necessary
  • Minimum age requirement is 14
  • Purchase and/or rent a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements

Position Overview: All are encouraged to apply, whether or not there you have experience in skiing or snowboarding. Teaching experience is not required and will be taught at pre-season clinics. There will be a required Instructor Training Clinic for all new instructors – usually the first three weekends in December. Lift tickets will be provided for all training days.

Instructors work in high visibility positions and are expected to be friendly, courteous, and patient, at all times. Many times, instructors will be teaching a group of guests, and lessons are for all ages. Snow School Instructors are an extremely important position. You can be the reason someone decides to ski/board for the rest of there life!

Rentals Staff Member - Seasonal part-time

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform job on your feet for an entire shift
  • Acquire a Head Tyrolia Rentals Staff certification on or before your first shift
  • Minimum age of 14
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
  • Must be able to independently reach a height of 8 feet with the use of a ladder
  • Snow shoveling is required
  • Purchase a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements

Position Overview: Rentals staff is in charge of providing guests with ski or snowboarding equipment, which is fit to each individual’s size and ability. This may include skis or a snowboard, boots, poles, and a helmet. It is of utmost importance that each guest feels cared for and comfortable in their rental equipment. No prior experience is required, as all training will be paid and conducted through The Rock Snowpark. Other job requirements include but are not limited to: general cleaning of the lodge, emptying outside trash cans, shoveling snow and salting, and assisting in other departments such as tubing on busy days.

Position Overview: Bartending at The Rock Snowpark is great part-time work! Serve up drinks while getting to interact with customers at a unique location - a ski hill! The Lodge bar is a full-service bar providing mixed drinks, canned & bottled beer, tap beer, hot chocolate, and more. We are looking for outgoing individuals to add to our bartending team. Besides serving drinks, bartenders are also responsible for stocking cooler items and the overall cleanliness of the bar area.

Park Crew Staff Member - Seasonal part-time

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet and provide outstanding guest service at all times. Must be 16+
  • Inspect, shape and test terrain park features
  • Maintain terrain park features raking, shoveling, and chipping ice off of features.
  • Properly document and record daily inspections and fix needed work daily.
  • Set up area fencing and signage as assigned. To include entrances and exits for the terrain parks.
  • Educate guests on proper use and etiquette of the terrain parks if improper use of features is seen.
  • Be familiar and knowledgeable with the skier's responsibility code and park safety
  • Snow removal/add snow around terrain park features daily.
  • Work closely with multiple departments. Lifts, Patrol, & Operations
  • Help out in other areas as needed. Be a team player. 

Position Overview: Park Crew members are to create and maintain terrain park features, take-offs, jumps, and other obstacles and surroundings, that include features that support rider progression and provide on hill entertainment to a wide variety of skiing/snowboarding skill levels. Terrain parks are a huge part of The Rock Snowpark, we are looking for individuals who are dedicated and are willing to put the work in to continue that reputation.

Ticketing/Guest Services  - Seasonal part-time

Essential Job Functions:

  • Cashier/register experience preferred

Position Overview: Ticketing/Guest Services staff are among the first employees a guest talks to, so this position requires friendly and helpful people, with the ability to handle money in a fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility will be to knowledgeably and accurately sell tickets and pro-shop items as well as help the Cafe point of sales when needed. You must memorize all aspects of The Rock Snowpark, be able to answer questions, and provide information about all departments. Job responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to: answering the phone, working closely with customers, general cleaning of the lodge, restocking the pro-shop, working a cash register at the ticket counter, AND cafe counter, and assisting with group check-ins! The Guest Services portion of this position will mainly take place outside assisting guests with arrival check-in as well as scanning tickets on hill. This position requires you to be vocal and interact with the guests - don't be shy!
