Operations and Maintenance Team Member - Seasonal Full Time

Essential Job Functions | Must be +18

  1. Assist with day-to-day outside operations during the season
  2. Performing maintenance on all ski area equipment (lifts, groomers, snowmaking, etc.)
  3. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  4. Assist with growing summer businesses and general off-season maintenance and hill projects.
  5. Assist with snowmaking throughout the season 
  6. Work closely with other outside department managers 

Required Skills:

  • Mechanical ability and aptitude
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Basic electrical skills

Position Overview: The Rock Snowpark is looking to add to its full-time outdoor operations team! This is a full-time position with heavier hours during the winter season. This position includes duties such as performing maintenance on all ski area equipment, assisting in all outside operations during the season and helping with summer projects and maintenance during the off-season. Experience operating equipment is not required but is a plus.

Terrain Park Manager - Full-Time Year-Round or Seasonal Full-Time

Essential Job Functions | Must be +18

  1. Schedule and manage park crew staff members 
  2. Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the takeoffs, landings, and manmade features of the terrain parks
  3. Schedule/coordinate terrain park builds with groomers and operations members
  4. Maintain terrain park features raking, shoveling, and chipping ice off of features before/while open
  5. Properly document and record daily inspections and fix needed work daily.
  6. Set up area fencing and signage as assigned. To include entrances and exits for the terrain parks.
  7. Be familiar and knowledgeable with the skier's responsibility code and park safety
  8. Snow removal/add snow around terrain park features daily.
  9. Work closely with multiple departments. Lift Ops, Patrol, & Operations
  10. Off-season work may include feature maintenance, feature fabrication, and other operations tasks around the hill
  11. Help out in other areas as needed. Be a team player

Position Overview: The Terrain Park Manager creates and maintains terrain park features, take-offs, jumps, and other obstacles and surroundings, that include features that support rider progression and provide on hill entertainment to a wide variety of skiing/snowboarding skill levels. Terrain parks are a huge part of The Rock Snowpark, we are looking for an individual who is dedicated and is willing to put the work in to continue that reputation. Passion for skiing and snowboarding is a must! Experience operating equipment is not required but is a plus.

Snow Tubing Park Manager - Seasonal Full Time

Position Overview: Our snow tubing park is one of the busiest areas on the hill. Tubing attendants are in constant contact with our guests and must possess friendly and helpful personalities. The snow tubing manager works to ensure a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience for our guests and employees. Duties include scheduling, training, and supervising tubing attendants; servicing groups and tubing parties; and making sure our tubing guests have fun and remain safe! The snow tubing manager is responsible for the opening and closing of our tubing park each day.

Food Services Manager - Seasonal Full Time

Essential Job Functions | Must be +18

  1. Oversee day-to-day operations of our cafe during the winter season
  2. Schedule and manage cafe team members to work the register, grill, fryer, and other cafe positions

Guest Services - Seasonal part-time

Position Overview: Working in guest services gives you a great opportunity to develop your customer service skills and make an impact on our guest experience. We have several areas that make-up this department. By working with a team of friends and co-workers, you will perform a variety of tasks within one or more of our guest areas as well as help maintain lodge cleanliness and greet customers. Our friendly lodge staff is often the very first interaction our guests have with The Rock Snowpark.  

-Must be +18yr older 

-$10/hr PLUS FREE skiing, snowboarding & tubing! 

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Greet and direct customers to the proper area of The Lodge as they arrive
  2. Help maintain traffic flow through The Lodge and monitor lodge capacity 
  3. Kindly ask guests to wear a mask when in The Lodge and when social distancing is not possible 
  4. Be knowledgeable about our hill and services offered. Be able to answer questions or direct them to a manager 
  5. Help keep The Lodge and surrounding areas clean
  6. Use our mobile ticket scanners to scan skiers, snowboarders, and tubers on hill (chair lift load, rope tow load, tubing conveyor) making sure they have a valid RFID ticket

Lift Operator - Seasonal part-time

Essential Job Functions | Must be +18

  1. Working outside, frequently in extreme weather conditions
  2. Physically holding chairs while guests load and unload chairlifts
  3. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  4. Snow shoveling required
  5. May be on your feet for the entire shift
  6. Purchase and/or rent a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements

Position Overview: Lift operators are in constant contact with our guests and must be friendly and helpful when greeting and assisting them. You will be outside, sometimes for your entire shift, in all types of weather. You must be agile on soft and hard-packed snow surfaces and able to walk safely down the slopes. You may be performing lift maintenance or de-icing towers and clearing snow. You will work the Magic Carpet lift in the tubing area, and you may be scheduled to work as a tubing attendant during weekday “special open” events for school groups. Lift Operators are responsible for making sure customers have a safe and enjoyable experience while using the lifts at The Rock Snowpark.

Snow School Instructor - Seasonal part-time

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Good skiing and/or snowboarding ability preferred but not required
  2. Outside work, frequently in extreme weather conditions
  3. Commitment to improving skills and teaching techniques through practice and clinics
  4. Some clinics will be mandatory
  5. Excellent customer services skills necessary
  6. Minimum age requirement is 14
  7. Purchase and/or rent a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements

Position Overview: All are encouraged to apply, whether or not there you have experience in skiing or snowboarding. Teaching experience is not required and will be taught at pre-season clinics. There will be a required Instructor Training Clinic for all new instructors – usually the first three weekends in December. Lift tickets will be provided for all training days.

Instructors work in high visibility positions and are expected to be friendly, courteous, and patient, at all times. Many times, instructors will be teaching a group of guests, and lessons are for all ages. Snow School Instructors are an extremely important position. You can be the reason someone decides to ski/board for the rest of there life!

Rentals Staff Member - Seasonal part-time

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Perform job on your feet for an entire shift
  2. Acquire a Head Tyrolia Rentals Staff certification on or before your first shift
  3. Minimum age of 14
  4. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
  5. Must be able to independently reach a height of 8 feet with the use of a ladder
  6. Snow shoveling is required
  7. Purchase a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements

Position Overview: Rentals staff is in charge of providing guests with ski or snowboarding equipment, which is fit to each individual’s size and ability. This may include skis or a snowboard, boots, poles, and a helmet. It is of utmost importance that each guest feels cared for and comfortable in their rental equipment. No prior experience is required, as all training will be paid and conducted through The Rock Snowpark. Other job requirements include but are not limited to: general cleaning of the lodge, emptying outside trash cans, shoveling snow and salting, and assisting in other departments such as tubing on busy days.

Tubing Attendant - Seasonal part-time

  5. Excellent customer service skills

Position Overview: Tubing Attendants are in constant contact with our guests and must possess friendly and helpful personalities. Attendants will perform all opening, operating, and closing procedures at the Tubing Park at The Rock. They will assist customers at the top and the bottom of the hill with getting into and out of snow tubes. It is the tubing attendants' responsibility to ensure customers have a safe and memorable experience!

Cafe/Kitchen Staff Member - Seasonal part-time

Position Overview: Our Cafe staff is responsible for meeting customers’ needs in terms of food and beverage, as well as ensuring clean and sanitary conditions of the lodge area. Your duties include but are not limited to food prep, operating a fryer and/or oven, operating a cash register, cleaning, disinfecting and stocking restrooms, mopping and vacuuming all floors, removal of trash and recyclables from common areas, and clearing lodge tables. Organization and cleanliness are a plus!

Essential Job Functions

  1. Greet and provide outstanding guest service at all times. Must be 16+
  2. Inspect, shape and test terrain park features
  3. Maintain terrain park features raking, shoveling, and chipping ice off of features.

  • Cashier/register experience preferred

Position Overview: Ticketing/Cashier staff are among the first employees a guest talks to, so this position requires friendly and helpful people, with the ability to handle money in a fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility will be to knowledgeably and accurately sell tickets and pro-shop items as well as help the Cafe point of sales when needed. You must memorize all aspects of The Rock Snowpark, be able to answer questions and provide information about all departments. Job responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to: answering the phone, working closely with customers, general cleaning of the lodge, restocking the pro-shop, working a cash register at the ticket counter, AND cafe counter, and assisting with group check-ins!
